Getty Announces New Grants to Benefit Photographers, NGOs
Getty Images has announced two new "Grants for Good" of $15,000 each that will be awarded to two photographers who are "creating compelling imagery to raise awareness about the issues and work of a nonprofit they admire." The deadline for applications is April 15. Getty says winning photographers can use the money to support their work for a non-profit agency, or they give the money to the non-profit and do the photography for them as a volunteer.

Judges who pick the winners will include Christopher Phillips, of the International Center of Photography, and Lesley Martin of the Aperture Foundation.

To everone who missed the Rick Smolan presentation on the 13th at Left Space Studios it was amazing, inspiring and informative.

You should have received some important documents from our ASMP National office - if not, they should arrive in the mail soon.

Among these documents are two referendums that will allow you to help shape the future of ASMP on a national level.  You also will have the opportunity to vote for members running for our national board.

The Constitution Changes Referendum and the Dues Increase Referendum will enrich the benefits of your membership, which is why, as your new chapter president, I recommend a vote of “Yes” in support of both referendum initiatives.

Do not post addresses or phone #s, as this is an open and indexed site. possibly share carpooling points and general interest to give or receive a ride to the event. Perhaps use your ASMPNorcal or BATW listserves and or membership lists to convene. Please drive safely and responsibly.

Stolen from SF studio- Deardorff Studio Cameras and a Salzman 8 foot A frame camera stand with geared head;

1) 11x14 studio Deardorff with 4x5, 5x7, split 5x7 and 8x10 backs.
2) Six 11x14 film holders for the deardorff in a black custom case.
3)Rotary 8x10 film back for 11x14 Deardorff camera in a custom carrying case including 4x5, 5x7 and 11x14 film backs.
4) Seven misc. Dagor Symar S and process lenses that cover 8x10 and 11x14.
