Photographer Uwe Steinmueller is the publisher of Digital Outback Photo, a website dedicated to digital photography. A professional photographer for three decades, since the 1970s he has worked collaboratively with his spouse Bettina Steinmueller. Together they have exhibited and published work internationally.

Prepare to be moved by “A Mother’s Journey,” the 2007 winner of the Pulitzer Prize for feature photography by Renée Byer. The story follows a single mother and her 10-year-old son through his last year of life as he battles a rare and fatal cancer. Renée and members of the team at the Sacramento Bee will share this heartbreaking and heartwarming story and talk about the year-long photo and multimedia project.
