An Evening Featuring Your Photography

Join us on February 8th at Blue Sky Studios in San Francisco for a wonderful evening featuring your photography.

Similar in concept to the wildly-popular PechaKucha, ASMP members and guests are invited to show and narrate 20 images for 20 seconds each. Bring your best or bring your most interesting; either way, it's a great opportunity to share your creativity with your fellow members and friends.

Though not affiliated with PechaKucha, we'll follow their basic format, including the following: - Images: Each person can show exactly 20 images, each for precisely 20 seconds. The slideshow will be run by computer, so everyone gets a fair shake.

Narration: No music or pre-recorded voiceovers allowed. It's just you and your images, so it's wise to prepare at least a bit.

Format: 20 images in JPEG format (size: 1024 x 768 px., landscape orientation). You might be a nonconformist in all other aspects of your life, but please don't choose to be one when submitting your images. Try to keep your images under 450 KB each.

Naming: To preserve your intended image order, name your images using your initials followed by consecutive numbers, for example, PJ-001.jpg, PJ-002.jpg, PJ-003.jpg, etc.

Submissions: After you've completed your selection, do the following to submit your images:

1. Resize each image to 1024 pixels (on the long side).
2. Rename each image using your lastname and a sequential file number, for example, smith-img_001
3. Log on to http://www.pixoasis.com.
   Username: ASMP
   Password: asmpnorcal
   PixOasis logins are case sensitive
4. Click the thumbnail to enter the album, click the Add Photos button, and wait for the Java upload applet to appear.

The doors open at 6pm with the first presentation starting at 7pm. As you might imagine, this is a perfect event for all of us with short attention spans.

ASMP NorCal welcomes a broad mix of participants, from well-known professionals to students, recent graduates, and new photographers. This is a great opportunity to present your images to some of the most creative folks in San Francisco, and have a great time doing it.
