Jill Greenberg: Questions & Answers with a Contemporary American Media Photographer

This won't be your usual talking-head, show & tell event. Jill Greenberg, shooter of the stars, both animal and human, has agreed to share her images and thoughts with ASMP NorCal so long as the event is structured in a question and answer format. That's just fine with us!

Known for her super-realistic images of furry beasts, shiny porcelain celebrities and sobbing children, Jill epitomizes what a contemporary media photographer can be in today's society and marketplace. Take a peek at her weekly calendar and you'll see one day she's shooting a magazine cover, later in the week ads for Target, and just a few days later her "End of Times" Gallery Show is opening in Adelaid. Oh, and then there are the personal book projects.

Known as a master image manipulator, (www.manipulator.com) Jill manages a continuity in vision, style and technique that crosses the lines of art for commerce and fine art that reflects the glitz of contemporary commercialism yet is totally imbued with concept and technical mastery. Within her imagery, especially that of beasts and non-human characters, is personal commentary on our cultural humanity.

Greenberg's" End Times" imagery of crying children speaks not only of her politcs but also of her motherhood. Jill lives and works in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, son, and dog Scooter.
