ASMP February Event - The Changing World of Fine Art Photography

Fine art photographers are increasingly interested in gaining
commercial assignments while, at the same time, many commercial
photographers are actively seeking gallery representation to exhibit
and sell their fine art images. But what exactly distinguishes fine
art photography from commercial photography? And once you've decided
to make the leap to fine art photography, how do you locate and
approach galleries that will best highlight your work?

Join us on February 12th for a lively exchange between our
distinguished panel of experts as they explore and elucidate these and
other issues. The panel includes renowned photographer Todd Hido,
photographers' representative Norman Maslov (owner of Agent
Internationale), Ann M. Jastrab (Gallery Director Rayko Photo Center)                                                                        and bookbinder Tim James of Taurus Bookbinding.

This engaging presentation and discussion will address
topics including how to price your work, how to decide between digital
and traditional prints, and how to self-publish your own art books.

The panel will also reflect on some of the challenges in crossing over
from fine art photography to high paying commercial assignments. All
in all, it's an event not to be missed.

So be sure to be with us on February 12th as we learn directly from
the experts on how to get ahead in the changing world of fine art
photography. As always, food and drink will be served.

Todd Hido, an award winning photographer, received his BFA in 1991
from Tufts University and his MFA in 1996 from California College of
Arts and Crafts. He has had numerous solo and group shows both in the

alternative processes and historical process work and also work made with
traditional film cameras as well as plastic and pinhole cameras.
