He is an author on digital photography having written more books on the subject than I can count. Trekking in Nepal with professional camera equipmentSubmitted by nancywesthmb on Thu, 01/27/2011 - 6:35pm.Hi- I will be going to Nepal and traveling there for 1 month. I will be trekking with a group and we will be sleeping in tents, therefore, I will have no access to electricity. I will be bringing on Canon 7D and 3 lenses, but don't have a clue as to how to handle the battery situation. I can not afford to buy a dozen batteries, and I have heard from some friends that solar charges do not work well. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! This is just the latest within the string of disputes over content licensing fees. At midnight Friday, the current deal between Cablevision and Fox will expire. This should be great for the social site. Smartphone's with some GPS can use Facebook Places. Friends can see each other on the program. Use Facebook Places in one more simple way. Just tag friends that are with you. Places also makes it possible to discover new places you might be interested in. Privacy for Facebook is argued more hotly with this new product being used. Businesses have a better chance of getting someone in their doors when they advertise to someone with Facebook Places while that person is right outside their door. It could also be used by burglars and other criminals to identify targets. Facebook privacy settings to allow Places to be disabled. Republican filibuster doesn't stop unemployment benefits extension anymoreSubmitted by JadenS on Tue, 07/27/2010 - 10:29pm.Tuesday, a Republican filibuster stopped in Senate with the unemployment benefits. Since May when the issue started being discussed, 2 million Americans lost unemployment benefits. The U.S. unemployment rate is stuck at 9.5 percent. Despite the fact that jobs aren't available, five times more people than available jobs are looking for work. Democrats think the economy will do better with longer unemployment benefits. Some Republicans say unemployment benefits discourage people from looking for jobs. Republican filibuster no longer controls unemployment benefits Cool American Idol Video (Nicci Nix)Submitted by Seattle Video P... on Wed, 05/12/2010 - 2:58pm.http://www.videoproduction-seattle.com/video.php?cpath=Nicci_Nix_music_v... Another video we did with Christian Strickland as Director and Greg Amaro as Director of Photography. Features up and coming artist Nicci Nix. BLARE Media edited the music video and did all of the color correction and any of the animation. We shot this in Fresno California and utilized a lot of professional and high end gear including a full grip and lighting truck. We used HMI's, a Matthews Dolly and jib and of course our RED One Camera. Nicci was definitely a pleasure to work with and it goes to show what can be done on a small budget. Thank you for your time, Grant Writing WorkshopsSubmitted by mbmccarron on Thu, 08/28/2008 - 10:09am.Hello Folks, I'm wondering if any of my peers have any information on Grant Writing Workshops tailored to Photographers/Artists in the SF Bay Area that they'd recommend. If not anyone got any books that they've used as resources? I have a grant deadline coming up in November that I need to get cracking on. I've applied to grants before but it would be nice to be successful and actually get one! I figure my approach needs some fine tuning. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you Michelle McCarron Tel : 415 821 5779 Flashes of HopeSubmitted by Jay Ganaden on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 5:56pm.Hi there ASMP Nor Cal Members, I've recently started a chapter of Flashes of Hope in San Francisco. It's a non-profit organization that produces uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer. You can learn more about it here: http://www.flashesofhope.org We typically recruit volunteer photographers and stylists from ASMP and APA for these monthly portrait sessions. The idea is to use commercial photographers and stylists, and making a production out of it-- which may seem mundane to us, but all the lights and styling really makes these kids and their families feel happy and special. The website will give you an idea of the style of the portraits made during our visits. |
