SFDIG on Apple Aperture
SFDIG plans to kick off the new year with a bang with a review of the most discussed digital imaging software product intro in years -Apple's Aperture. The meeting will be held Thursday, January 12, and the featured presenter will be Kevin O'Connor, an experienced photographer, designer, and color management consultant and an entertaining speaker. Kevin will not only show the features of Aperture, but will discuss how it fits into a digital imaging
workflow and how it complements Photoshop.
Kevin O'Connor has been a photographer for more than thirty years, a graphic designer for more than twenty years, and a color management specialist for more than ten years, long before it became fashionable.
A self-described "lazy man", he delights in finding the most
efficient ways to run a workflow and sharing that knowledge.
Our sponsor for the evening will be SinarBron and they will describe their new digital back for 2006.
Sinar Bron Imaging is pleased to announce the eMotion22. Providing
a complete untethered solution, this 22MP digital back offers a fast capture rate of 1.2 seconds, the flexibility to use CF cards of any size and previews the captured image right on its integrated 2x2 color screen.
TIME AND PLACE
As usual, the meeting will be held at Blue Sky Rental Studios (2325 3rd St, Suite # 434, see www.blueskysf.com for directions) in San Francisco.
Pizza and soda at 6:30, and the meeting proper will be held from 7-9 PM.
We will be collecting the $60 annual membership fee at the door. ASMP members will get in for free by showing their Membership cards. You can also attend an individual meeting (a total of six each year) for a fee of $20. Individual meeting fees will not count toward an annual membership. Contact Pat Chan (pat@patchan.com) if you are interested in being a Volunteer.
SFDIG is open to all professionals involved in digital imaging, such as photographers, designers, prepress providers, etc. Each bi-monthly meeting features a power user or industry expert discussing a specific element of their digital workflow. The intention is to help
attendees develop their knowledge of "best practices" in digital imaging and to provide a forum for discussion with colleagues.
Bring yourself, your ideas, your war stories, and your enthusiasm.
