NEW MENTORS
The Northern
California ASMP Mentoring Program is pleased to announce the
addition of five new members to our program. Their experience spans
from
portraiture to aerial, advertising, and fine art photography. Please
join us in
welcoming our new mentors:
Joel Avila - http://www.hawkeyeaerial.com
Joel specializes in aerial photography. His employees include a
helicopter/
fixed-wing pilot and digital/graphics specialist. For large print
requests, Joel
shoots in medium format using film, and for smaller prints, he
shoots digitally.
All output is processed directly in his studio using an Imacon-Epson
2200/9600
combination with Ultrachrome inks for printing. His knowledge also
extends to
flight safety and Bay Area airspace restrictions.
Niobe Burden -
http://www.niobeburden.com
Niobe specializes in fine art, wedding, and commercial photography.
Fine
art photography is her mainstay; but, she’s been involved
in the commercial
realm for years. She not only has sold her fine art images for
conceptual advertising, but also has been involved with producing
shots of architecture, jewelry, executives, and paper mills for
annual reports. Niobe believes that photographers must educate
clients about the value of their work and that strong negotiating
skills are essential.

for the advertising and design industries. His work has been featured
in Communication Arts, Graphis, Electronic Imaging, Imaging News,
and Online Design. He has won multiple gold and “Best of
Show” awards
in the Art Directors and Ad Clubsponsored San Francisco shows.
Networked to his San Francisco studios, Bybee works from a state-of-the-art
digital studio at his West Sonoma County vineyard/ ranch. Gerald
works as a consultant, beta tester and early adopter of imaging
software, digital-capture cameras, and output technologies. His
fine art work is represented by Fahey/Klein Galleries in Los
Angeles.

Alto, CA. He is also a photography instructor at UC Extension,
UC Santa Cruz, San Jose City College, West Valley College, and
Brooks Institute.

in celebrity and aerospace/military photography. He has photographed
the Cannes Film Festival for 28 years and the Paris Air Show for
40 years. During this time, Fred was not only a professional photographer,

foreign aerospace technology.
