Mentoring Program

The e-mail mentoring program is now up and running.

The accomplished photographers listed below have graciously agreed to answer questions regarding techniques, problems, and the business of photography. We are very proud and grateful that they’ve taken the time from their very busy schedules to aid and assist the membership of this chapter.

ASMP NORCAL MENTOR LIST:
Steve Whittaker, Architectural Photographer - steve@asmpnorcal.org
Saul Bromberger, Editorial Photographer - saul@asmpnorcal.org
Bob Swanson, Architectural/Corporate Photographer - bob@asmpnorcal.org
Mark Gibson, Stock Photographer - mark@asmpnorcal.org
Marc Longwood, Corporate/Editorial Photographer - marc@asmpnorcal.org
Joe Daniels, Portait Photographer - joe@asmpnorcal.org
George Olson, Travel Picture Editor for Sunset Magazine - george@asmpnorcal.org

Please keep in mind that these mentors have agreed to do this gratis. Therefore, please keep it respectful and understanding if it takes a while to get a response.

We’re excited about the start of this program but we’re not stopping here. We’re looking into training programs and would like to reach out more to schools, getting students involved. This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a successful program that meets the needs of our membership. If you have any other ideas for mentoring programs, please send me an email at info@tobystjohnphoto.com.

The Rules:
1) You must be an ASMP Northern California member to e-mail a question. Please provide your membership number in the e-mail.
2) You must only contact them though the Mentor through their ASMP e-mail address only unless permission is granted directly by the mentor to do otherwise.
3) Only send in one question at a time.
4) Please include a subject in the subject line of the e-mail.
5) Do not ask the same question to all of the mentors in a blanket e-mail.
6) Try to be specific and as clear as possible in your questions.
7) Please avoid question too large to be completely answered: i.e. how do I get published in a magazine?
