| ASMP Northern California Volunteer Benefits
and Responsibilities
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer for us? Our volunteers
help set up and tear down at our monthly events and distribute our
quarterly newsletters throughout the Bay Area.
Benefits
After volunteering at four
events or committing to distributing four newsletters, in return
for your generous time contribution,
we provide
these benefits:
- Free admission to the
event at which you volunteer
- Inclusion on the ASMP Assistants-for-Hire
list distributed at each monthly event
- Inclusion on the ASMP
Northern California Volunteer Networking list
- Inclusion on
our ASMPNORCAL.ORG website Assistants list
- An opportunity
to be the Featured Volunteer at a monthly event.
This
goes to the first 12 volunteers who complete their commitment
obligation for the calendar year. Our Featured Volunteer will
be listed in the
event description in our quarterly newsletter. They will also
have table space for their bio, business collateral, and portfolio
and
may market themselves to our event attendees.
Responsibilities
Events
Events are the
second Tuesday of each month, and the volunteer shift is 5:15pm
to 9:30pm. We usually need 2-3 volunteers
for each event
and take them on a first-come, first-served basis. Responsibilities
include:
- Setting up and tearing down the meeting room,
- Setting up, serving,
and packing up refreshments,
- Assisting the guest speaker and our
sponsors, as necessary, and
- Greeting and registering attendees
at the door.
Newsletters
We distribute our quarterly newsletter
the second week of each quarter, dividing the Bay Area into several
territories. Volunteers
may select their territories to be close to where the live and/or
work.
